I can’t believe how much I enjoyed this book! I went in hesitantly because the subject matter intimidated me. While I’ve been walking my spiritual path for over a year now, I’ve not looked into psychism at all. I’ve not tried practicing it, or studying it, not really. But this book was amazing as a first step.
This almost works like a textbook in that its aim is to specifically teach. It’s filled with practices and practical advice. In addition, it describes how certain things work. I understand this is from the author’s point-of-view and personal research, so it’s not the only advice to live by on the subject. I don’t plan on only reading this book to learn and develop psychism. But as my first step, I learned much.

Dominguez’s descriptions are clear, simple, and helpful. They adjust your way of thinking perhaps just a fraction so you gain a deeper understanding and can bring that into your practice. For example, regarding meditation:
“In the context of opening the inner senses, my working definition for meditation is the art of changing waking consciousness into a higher active state of being with the goal of expanding our capacity to remain in that state.”
This may seem perhaps obvious, but the way it’s worded furthered my own understanding of how to approach meditation when trying to connect with my higher self, or my inner senses as he mentions. Dominguez’s realistic, applicable directions and advice throughout the book makes it a fairly easy read. I mean “easy” in that his sentences aren’t confounding. The subject matter, however, can sometimes take some time to absorb. I think annotating as you read this would be helpful.
The book includes step-by-step guides in many areas, and recipes for potions, oils, and incense. Also, I particularly loved the chapter on crystals since I connect with them deeply.
